The brief

Carolyn and Josh from Homesteading Family already had something most creators would kill for: a beloved family-run channel with 760+ uploads, an engaged audience, and an authentic voice that audiences trusted. What they didn't have was the time — or the specialized skill — to package each video as well as it deserved.

Their videos were good. The thumbnails were inconsistent. Titles weren't always pulling the click-through they could. SEO posture was DIY. The content was strong; the packaging was leaving views on the table. The brief: handle the packaging layer end-to-end so they could keep doing what only they can do — actually live the homesteading life and shoot the content.

What we run

  • Thumbnail design. Every published video gets a custom thumbnail from our design team. We run a consistent visual system — bold typography, high-contrast color use, expressive faces, recognizable family-brand identity — so the channel grid feels coherent and clicks at the same time.
  • Title strategy & SEO. Every video title is optimized for the search query / suggested feed mix the channel actually wins on. Real keyword research using YouTube Studio search data + VidIQ + ViewStats — not generic "use power words" advice.
  • Description & tag templates. Each upload gets a properly structured description with timestamped chapters, internal-linking, and tags tuned to the topic cluster.
  • Packaging review on retention drop-offs. When a video underperforms, we review the data with Carolyn — was it the thumbnail, the title, the first 30 seconds, the topic? — and apply the lesson to the next batch. Active feedback loop, not "ship and disappear."
  • Quarterly channel audits. A full review of the channel's positioning, top-performing topics, retention curves, and CTR posture — turned into a punch list for the next 90 days.

The results, in real numbers

Stats pulled from VidIQ + ViewStats analytics on the channel as of May 5, 2026:

  • +30.1% views growth in the past 7 days alone
  • +23.8% likes growth in the past 7 days
  • 7.07% engagement rate — well above the typical 3–5% YouTube benchmark
  • 900K subscribers, ranked #1.4K globally for subscriber count in their category
  • ~2 uploads per week consistent publishing cadence — 760+ videos and counting
  • $3.6K estimated monthly AdSense earnings on top of brand deals and product revenue

None of these numbers are hypothetical or projected — they're the live channel performance from the analytics tools both teams can verify.

What the client said

"This is the second month I have worked with Mark, and I am SO PLEASED! His new thumbnails are breathing life into my YouTube videos again. Views are up, revenue is up, watch time is up — and the only thing I have changed is changing to Mark's thumbnail and titles. Will definitely continue using!"

Services on the engagement

The pattern, generalized

Most established creators don't have an editing problem — they have a packaging problem. The video work is already strong; what's missing is the thumbnail / title / SEO discipline that turns a great video into a great view. That's a different skill set, and it doesn't scale through "watch 10 thumbnail videos on YouTube" — it scales through a specialist team running it as a system. That's the engagement we run for Homesteading Family. Talk to us if your channel is in this category.
